The second and final instrumental interlude on Touch is “Uphill Battle.” Sarah’s piano and guitar work take on a warm, honey-like richness. Unlike the grandiose nature of the title track, this piece is much more anchored in classical roots and feels much more at home on the album than the new-age baroque stylings of “Touch.” I would probably go for this one if I had to choose only one instrumental piece to remain on this record. She brings the inviting nature of a warm spring morning to the soundscape, making for a relaxing listen.
