Outside academia, James was a prolific writer, publishing books and articles that shed light on the African American experience. He also served as a consultant, developing and evaluating instructional programs and conducting workshops on cultural diversity. Throughout his career, he remained committed to fighting for equality and empowering marginalized communities.
