In many countries, especially in developing regions, there’s a lingering skepticism about online businesses. Unfortunately, in my country, this skepticism is pervasive, with many believing that those who conduct their businesses online are fraudsters. This belief stems from years of fraudulent activities that have tarnished the reputation of online business, making it difficult for legitimate entrepreneurs to gain the trust they deserve. In my journey as an entrepreneur, I have witnessed firsthand the struggle to change this perception, especially with people like my neighbor who embodies this mentality.

The Online Business Stereotype

The stereotype that anyone engaging in online business is a fraud is deeply ingrained in the minds of many. This perception comes from several factors: widespread internet scams, email phishing, and get-rich-quick schemes that have plagued society for years. Many people have either fallen victim to these scams or know someone who has, which has understandably built distrust around online enterprises.
