Elara alone continued baking bread in this sackcloth agricultural village surrounded by hills and a small stream, knitting us together when financial difficulty threatened to unravel most of us. She learned it is the strength of getting to an event and seeing cultures other than one’s own that can bring happiness into a situation, but it is also in knowing when to keep one's mouth shut and just let silence guide one to the truth.
