…ing on the clear and clean water.
 The day recedes like white water
 flowing over smooth stones.
 
 We sit on the bank, watching dusk
 close on the day like a coffin lid.
 We rock in each other’s embrace,
 shielding each other from the darkness,
 feeling God’s healing spirit brush 
 the remains of the golden hour
 over the cracks in our shattered hearts.
